European Youth Week 2026 – Dutch edition ⚡

A week full of events and inspiring youth to be active!

From the 1st to the 9th of May, EuroPeers across the Netherlands joined forces with the national agency to bring European Youth Week to life – one event, one conversation, one connection at a time. ✨

The week opened with something truly special. On the 3rd of May, Amsterdam played host to a Remembrance Dinner 🕯️ – an evening dedicated to honoring the soldiers who lost their lives in World War II. More than a memorial, it became a warm and intimate gathering where people felt safe to share their personal stories and lived experiences, all while enjoying delicious food prepared by a queer NGO. 🏳️‍🌈🍽️

Two days later, on Liberation Day, the energy shifted to Vlissingen. Fons, Telaan, and Marieke brought the EuroPeers spirit to the Liberation Day Festival, seizing the moment to spark curiosity in young people about the many opportunities Erasmus+ has to offer. Their presence wasn’t just informational – it was an invitation for young people to step up, take initiative, and see themselves as part of something bigger. 🌍💡

Then came Europe Day on the 9th of May, and the EuroPeers showed up in two cities at once.

In Hilversum, Tristan teamed up with GoEurope at a lively festivity, manning an info booth and sharing the full spectrum of Erasmus+ opportunities with everyone who stopped by.

Meanwhile, in Utrecht, a group of EuroPeers wrapped up the week the way it deserved to be closed: together. They enjoyed each other’s company, attended sessions from fellow organizations, and kept spreading the word about what Erasmus+ can mean for a young person’s life.

A week of remembrance, celebration, and inspiration. Challenging at times, but deeply rewarding. 💪🌱
