Take-aways from the Annual Network Meeting

How will the ANM 2023 impact our local activities? What inspired and motivated us during the last week?

Romania was represented this year by 6 proud EuroPeers in the Annual Network Meeting

in Riga, Latvia: former and current Advisory Group members, active members and important actors in the youth work field.

During the meeting we had the chance to talk about the highlights and challenges EuroPeers Romania experienced over the previous 12 months, since the last Annual Network Meeting in Gdansk, Poland.

Looking back..

Our main highlights were:

  • Consistency in holding the monthly online meetings, maintaining a space for members to connect and share latest local & international news
  • Good partnerships with local non-governmental organisations and associations, representing EuroPeers in various regions of Romania
  • Increased engagement and initiative within our network writing our first European Solidarity Corps project in February 2023 as an informal group.

As for the challenges we faced, the most significant would be managing the level of engagement within the local network considering different schedules & priorities while working exclusively online. Finding an organized and structured way of working together is also something we are constantly working on to improve.

Other local networks were sources of inspiration for us when it comes to recreational activities for EuroPeers (like hiking!), taking another go in applying together for our ESC project and make the ‘Comeback events’ in Romania more popular!

What’s next for us?

  1. Reorganizing national steering group
  2. Start collaboration with EuroDesk (e.g., in Time to Move activities)
  3. Plan for a new recruitment round in Spring 2024

Stay tuned and follow our journey implementing these ideas! ⭐
