Romania Welcomes New Members to the EuroPeers Network
At the end of May, EuroPeers Romania welcomed a new generation of members during the New Members Training Meeting, a five-day learning experience organised by the Romanian National Agency for Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.
The training brought together young people with diverse European experiences, all sharing a common goal: to promote European opportunities and inspire other young people in their local communities.
Throughout the programme, participants explored the role of EuroPeers, learned more about the values and mission of the network, and discovered how they can turn their own Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps experiences into meaningful stories that encourage youth participation and engagement.
One of the highlights of the meeting was that, for the second consecutive year, several sessions were facilitated by EuroPeers members themselves: Alexandru Ciobotaru, Alexandra Ivașc, Alexia Costache and Nona Gheorghieși. This peer-learning approach was first proposed by participants of the previous training edition and has since become an important part of the programme.
As volunteers, experienced EuroPeers stepped into facilitation roles, sharing their knowledge and experiences with the new members while working alongside and receiving support from the National Agency trainers, Di Bere and Răzvan Rotariu. This initiative reflects one of the network’s core values: young people learning from and supporting one another.
The programme also included discussions with representatives of the National Agency, offering participants the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas, and learn more about the future of European youth programmes and opportunities.
Participants were introduced to the Eurodesk network through a dedicated session delivered by Alexandra Duică, Eurodesk Romania Coordinator, who presented the information services and mobility opportunities available to young people across Europe.
Another important moment of the training was the presentation of the Participatory Analysis of the EuroPeers Romania Network 2025–2026, an initiative developed by EuroPeers Romania members. The research was conducted by Denisa Porumboiu (PhD candidate and social sciences researcher), Lucian Burci (PhD candidate and equal opportunities expert), and Nona Gheorghieș (social worker and Master’s student in the Risk Groups and Social Services programme). The session explored key findings regarding the network’s impact, member engagement, development needs, and future directions, providing valuable insights into the growth and evolution of the community.
Beyond the sessions and workshops, the meeting created space for connection, reflection, and the exchange of experiences between both new and experienced members. Over five days, participants built friendships, developed new skills, and became part of a community committed to bringing European opportunities closer to young people.
As the training came to an end, one thing became clear: EuroPeers Romania continues to grow through the energy, ideas, and commitment of its members. With a new generation now joining the network, the community is ready to continue sharing experiences, promoting opportunities, and empowering young people across the country.
