Latvian and Estonian EuroPeers Meet at a Networking Event in Tallinn
From 13 to 14 December, young people from Latvian and Estonian EuroPeers network met in the capital of Estonia, Tallinn.
From 13 to 14 December, Latvian and Estonian EuroPeers met in the capital of Estonia, Tallinn, where the Latvian–Estonian EuroPeers networking event took place. The event brought together the 20 most active members of the networks – 10 from Latvia and 10 from Estonia.

The aim of the event was to promote mutual acquaintance among young people, strengthen cooperation between the two national networks, and collectively seek solutions to current challenges in informing youth and the implementation of various activities related to EU programme opportunities.

Taking into account changes in the coordination of the Estonian EuroPeers network and the challenges related to them, this year’s networking programme placed special emphasis on the active involvement of Latvian EuroPeers youth and the transfer of their experience. A successful cooperation model between the network coordinator and youth ambassadors was demonstrated.
The programme was developed in close cooperation with Natalja Klimenkova, the network coordinator of the Estonian National Agency. During the event, young people participated in non-formal education activities that fostered networking, exchange of experience and mutual learning. Good practice examples as well as challenges faced by EuroPeers were discussed, informational content was created, and ideas for youth engagement at local and international levels were developed.

Second Day of the Event
To further strengthen the competences of young people, on the second day the participants were joined by trainer Pāvels Vasiļjevs. In the sessions he led, problem situations in both networks were identified, ideas for solving them were generated, and proposals were developed at the local, Latvian–Estonian cooperation, and international levels.
The ideas and opinions developed by young people, through the Estonian network coordinator, will be presented at the international EuroPeers Annual Network Meeting in February 2026, thus ensuring that young people’s voices are also heard at the European level.

The Importance of Volunteering
In reference to the fact that 2026 will mark 30 years since the launch of the volunteering initiative in Europe, an informative and educational session titled “Euroclass on Volunteering” was held as part of the event. During the session, young people expanded their knowledge about volunteering opportunities in Europe, the benefits of participation, and the challenges that may be encountered when engaging in international projects.

Youth Reflections After the Event
The most active Latvian EuroPeer, Ainis Kuzņecovs, acknowledges after the networking event:
“It is wonderful that we had the opportunity to learn about the powerful initiatives our neighbours are implementing in their network, it turns out that international cooperation is not that complicated after all. We will continue to cooperate and plan the best year in the history of the EuroPeers network in the Baltics!”
Latvian Latvian EuroPeers newcomer Marks Ančevskis adds:
“The network meeting gave me the opportunity to better understand how the EuroPeers youth network operates in Estonia. It was very valuable to meet other young people and gain a clear understanding of how the network will develop and function in the coming year.”
Rolāns Vozņesenskis shares similar feelings:
“This was a great first experience to receive advice and share ideas with colleagues in a neighbouring country. I greatly appreciated this opportunity to gain inspiration and new contacts.”
At the conclusion of the event, young people jointly developed proposals for the next Latvian–Estonian EuroPeers networking event, which will take place in Latvia on 13–14 June 2026, in order to continue cooperation, generate ideas and implement joint international activities in border regions.
