German National Network Meeting – EuroPeers celebrating the 20th network anniversary
The EuroPeers in Germany celebrated the 20th anniversary of the network at the national annual meeting, which took place from April 25-27 at the Blossin Youth Education Center – beautifully situated in the countryside by Lake Wolzig. A committed group of 34 EuroPeers spent the weekend bubbling over with ideas for the next few years of network development.
The annual meeting began with a review of the network’s 20-year history. Long-time EuroPeers and alumni shared memories of their favorite activities via text, video and photo messages. Everyone was able to test their network knowledge in a quiz. The “network offspring” gathered plenty of inspiration to carry on the legacy.
Saturday started with an input from the network coordinators. Afterwards, the seminar room was traditionally moved outdoors. The EuroPeers were activated and inspired to get involved with a station run under the motto “Be louder and more present”. Among other things, great chalk pictures, Instagram reels and memes, demo posters, ideas for anniversary campaigns and suggestions for revising the national EuroPeers strategy were created. At the anniversary party in the evening, the EuroPeers danced the night away and practiced their skills as DJs at the mixing desk.
On Sunday, unresolved topics were taken up again in the open tables session and ideas and next steps were worked out during the action planning.
The EuroPeers went home full of energy after an intensive weekend – based on the beginnings of the network, the anniversary campaign “20 actions in 20 weeks” started right at the beginning of May and will be documented on video.
Over the next few months, the EuroPeers from Germany will also be involved in a number of major events, providing information about the EU youth programs and reporting on their experiences:
- Church Congress in Hanover
- German Child and Youth Welfare Day
- International German Gymnastics Festival
- YouthPoliticsDays
- European Youth Event
- …
We can look back on a successful event, taking a lot of new ideas with us, and we are excited to have a breath of fresh air in the network.
