Buna! Hallo! Tere! Привіт!

On April 8-12th, we participated in the EuroPeers training course in Bucharest, Romania.

22 current and future EuroPeers from 12 countries came together to build an international network and exchange their experiences and ideas.

At first, we were a group of strangers but already on the first evening we broke the ice by getting to know our superpowers and created some inside jokes. We quickly realized that we have a really fun and unique team of EuroPeers. Together, we learned about European opportunities and methods of promoting them, but also spoke about our journeys and discussed how the EuroPeers networks operate in our countries. We got the chance to meet some of the national coordinators as well as the international coordinator, Marie Heimburg, in an online meeting.

We did a lot of teambuilding and fun activities, such as Mission Impossible with some interesting tasks that pushed some of us out of our comfort zones.

“I think it was a great interactive game, and the assignments let us go outside and engage with the university students on campus, it was nice.”

– Willemien, the Netherlands

We spent a lot of time learning about design thinking and even put it to practice by implementing prototypes of our own project ideas. We had four groups, each of them focused on one way of spreading information and awareness: in-person presentation, activity with current ESC volunteers, social media and street campaigning.

“The activity was very useful because many people only knew about the Erasmus university exchanges but they didn’t know about the rest of the Erasmus+ opportunities. People were surprised that you can participate in youth exchanges until you are 30 years old. It was entertaining and informative!”

– Carlos, Spain

“Managing the social media of Europeers was very fun, and we had even more ideas for content than time to realize it. But we will take these ideas with us and you will definitely see and hear from us again!”

– Roosmari, Estonia

One of the highlights was definitely visiting downtown Bucharest, where we had dinner at a rooftop restaurant with a beautiful sunset view of the city. We had a nice walk in the old town and later the karaoke fans got to sing their hearts out at a local bar.

“Gimme gimme gimme your man after midnight”

– Marius, Norway

We spent most of our free moments enjoying the amazing warm weather, relaxing outside in the sun, exploring the surroundings together and playing board or card games.

“All of my lunch breaks I spent in my soft bed.”

– anonymous

All in all, four days might seem like a short time, but they were very productive and exciting. We are extremely thankful to the Romanian National Agency and EuroPeers for hosting the unforgettable training.

“Although I’m sad to leave because we became pretty close during these days, I’m looking forward to meeting some of the EuroPeers again in future projects!”

– Marie, Germany
