EuroPeers Training Liepaja, Latvia 2026

Young people from across Europe came together to become EuroPeers, share their experiences and inspire others to discover European opportunities.

From 22–28 September 2026, young people from all over Europe came together in Liepaja, Latvia, for the international training course “Becoming a EuroPeer”. Organised by the Latvian National Agency, the training brought together young people with different European experiences and one shared motivation: to inspire others to discover the opportunities Europe has to offer.

EuroPeers are young people who have experienced Erasmus+ Youth or European Solidarity Corps opportunities and want to pass that experience on to others. Whether through DiscoverEU, youth exchanges, volunteering, solidarity projects or youth participation activities, every participant arrived with a story to share.

Over five full training days, participants explored how to turn those experiences into meaningful stories and engaging activities. Through practical workshops and peer-to-peer learning, we developed skills in storytelling, communication, facilitation and organising EuroPeer activities. We also deepened our understanding of European youth programmes and explored creative ways to make these opportunities more accessible to other young people.

But the training was not only about skills. It was also about connection. Bringing together participants from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania and Sweden created a space for intercultural exchange, new friendships and different perspectives on what it means to be young and active in Europe.

One of the highlights of the training was the opportunity to put these skills into practice. Participants organised an event at the local youth house in Liepaja, where we shared our personal experiences with local young people and introduced them to European opportunities such as Erasmus+, DiscoverEU and the European Solidarity Corps. It was a chance to take what we had learned beyond the training room and directly connect with young people in the local community.

Liepaja became more than just the setting for the training. It became a place where experiences were exchanged, ideas grew and new connections were made. From sharing personal journeys to practising how to inspire others, each participant contributed something unique to the group.

The training ended with participants receiving their Youthpass certificates and taking the next step towards becoming active members of the EuroPeers network. But the end of the training was also the beginning of something new: taking what we learned back home and using our own stories to open doors for others.

And now, the story continues from Liepaja to communities across Europe.
