On July 12–13, this year’s summer gathering of the Europeers took place in Tallinn, bringing together a total of 14 members. The two-day festival was primarily designed to help everyone get to know each other better, share experiences and discuss what kinds of activities Europeers themselves would like to carry out within their network in the future.

The meeting kicked off with various icebreaker games and smaller discussion circles, which helped create a friendly and open atmosphere. One particularly memorable moment was when each participant shared their personal Europeers story of  how and when this journey began for them and why they decided to become a Europeer in the first place. It was fascinating to hear how different each path had been, yet there were always moments of recognition and common thoughts that connected everyone.

The gathering wasn’t only about getting acquainted. Several workshops were also held that encouraged participants to look deeper within themselves. There were discussions about identity, the many different facets that make up each individual and how personal life experiences shape the way people see the world. In one workshop, everyone wrote down their personal values and explored how these either aligned with or differed from those of the other Europeers.

Special attention was also given to the future of the Europeers network. During discussions and brainstorming sessions, many ideas emerged about what kinds of activities were most needed or would be especially exciting to carry out. There was a clear wish for more small-scale meet-ups, where new ideas could be explored in a more relaxed setting and where people could simply enjoy spending time together. Plans also came up for workshops, different kinds of events, making more active use of social media and strengthening international collaboration. All aimed at making the work of the Europeers even more visible and impactful.

Over the course of the two days, participants managed to map out several plans that they hope to bring to life in the near future. The meeting provided plenty of enthusiasm and confidence to start putting these ideas into action and to help make the Europeers network even more vibrant and diverse.
