The EuroPeer network in Germany is growing
This year’s national EuroPeers training took place in March at the Cologne-Riehl youth hostel. The training was teamed up by Melih Özkardes and Hannah Schütt as well as the junior trainers Florian Maurer and Emma Grabow.
Unlike the previous training sessions, this time the official start was on Friday morning. The participants arrived on Thursday evening for an informal get-together. Despite the shortened time, the training included all the important elements of a EuroPeers training course – including a EuroPeer activity! On Saturday, the participants and trainers made their way to the Feriencamp Messe Köln at the Rautenstrauch-Joest-Museum and informed the young visitors about their experiences with the EU youth programs and their diverse opportunities. The intensive program on Friday prepared the EuroPeers for this first activity. On Friday morning, Regina Pfeiffer from Eurodesk and Alexandra Tschiersky from JUGEND für Europa were also on site to report on the many opportunities for cooperation with Eurodesk and to provide a brief overview of the EU youth programs. On Friday, the participants also got to know the “Super-EuroPeer” and thus better understand the EuroPeers and the network. On Sunday, it was time to say goodbye again. Beforehand, the participants reflected on their own learning outcomes. We also discussed the next steps and planned further activities for the new EuroPeers. We are already looking forward to a breath of fresh air and great action from the 22 new EuroPeers in the German network!
