Beyond Boundaries: Europeers Craft Connections in Cologne
Get-together of EuroPeers from East Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
On 2 December, seven participants spent an enjoyable afternoon in Cologne, exploring the city’s enchanting Christmas markets. From the bustling market at the cathedral (Kölner Dom), we headed to Heinzels Wintermärchen, located at the Heumarkt in the old town and from there to a cosy café to warm up.

The day concluded with a convivial round of mulled wine at the Cologne Harbour Christmas Market.
This event provided an opportunity for us to come together and lay the groundwork for future collaborations.
Furthermore, we engaged in a stimulating conversation about sign language, with Lukas and Wendy sharing valuable insights from their academic studies, enriching our understanding of how to enhance the inclusion of those who communicate exclusively through non-verbal means.
Originally, the event also aimed to raise awareness of the EuroPeers network among volunteers in the region. Unfortunately, no volunteers attended. Another time then! We are just getting started and ready to hit the ground running!
The future looks bright!
